Del. DOJ Secures Conviction in Dover High School Shooting
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware Department of Justice announced on Tuesday that a conviction has been secured in connection to the football game shooting that took place last October at Dover High School.
On Oct. 10, 28-year-old Kameron Scott of Dover was convicted by a Superior Court jury on several gun charges, including possessing a firearm in a school zone.
On the evening of Oct. 18, 2024, the Dover Police Department was working at Dover High School for the school’s home football game against Smyrna. During the course of the night, a fight broke out in the parking lot between Scott’s associates and another group. In response to this, Scott, who is prohibited from carrying a firearm due to a prior robbery conviction, fired a single shot into the air with his firearm and fled to the nearby Leandre Lakes apartment buildings. The firearm was later recovered by officers.
A sentencing date for Scott has not been announced at this time.
