Cambridge Man Arrested for Morning Burglary

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a burglary that took place Thursday morning.

At approximately 6:22 a.m. on Oct. 9, officers responded to the 400 block of Light Street for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival on the scene, officers contacted the victim.

The victim reported that 22-year-old Qwinton Tylik Rogers of Cambridge had broken into the residence by pushing in a window AC unit and taken multiple items prior to leaving the area on a scooter. Authorities were provided with an address for Rogers, at which they located and detained him without incident.

Rogers admitted to officers that he had pushed in the AC unit, and later informed officers where the stolen items were located. Rogers was placed under arrest and later turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on $10,000 bond. Rogers was charged with first and third degree burglary, theft, and malicious destruction of property.
