Brandywine Valley SPCA hosts Bark on the Boards event in Rehoboth Beach
SALISBURY, Md. — The Brandywine Valley SPCA is hosting its annual Bark on the Boards event this Saturday in Rehoboth Beach, offering a fun-filled day for animal lovers and their furry friends.
The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., features a variety of activities, including yoga with puppies, live entertainment, and a walk on the boardwalk. Attendees can also enjoy an animal costume contest, a vendor village, and exciting dock diving dogs — a thrilling spectacle where dogs leap off a platform into a pool.
Brandywine Valley SPCA officials expect a large turnout and encourage early arrival. The event will also feature 8-week-old huskies available for adoption, as well as kittens looking for new homes.
Sara Smith, director of communications for Brandywine Valley SPCA, said the event is a great opportunity to support the organization and meet animals in need of a forever home.
“Join us, meet a couple of our survivors, and welcome them into your home,” Smith said. “If you can’t adopt or make a big donation, you can still support us by attending the event, bringing your dogs, dressing them up for the costume contest, or participating in our 1K walk.”
The event helps raise awareness and funds for the SPCA’s mission to find loving homes for animals before the holiday season.
