Annual UWLES 5K dash returns to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore is gearing up for its 9th annual Zombie 5K Dash.

The organization partners with students from Salisbury University each year for the fun event. The marathon helps raise funds for SU Student United Way and UWLES, to continue its local programs.

Development leader, Amanda Hailey said it’s a great way to bring the community together for an important cause, and they’re still looking for sponsors that will help bring the marathon to life.

“We’ve had anywhere from 75 to 100 people participate. People can dress up in costumes, there’s a costume contest and an after party, there’s medals and awards, ” said Hailey. “People love volunteering, so sometimes the Leo Club from Parkside will volunteer, other clubs on campus will volunteer, dress up as zombies, it’s just a fun day.”

If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, you can email Hailey at Amanda@UWLES.org. To register for the event, click here.
