American Cancer Society has holiday cancer research event on December 9th
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The American Cancer Society has a special event coming up this winter.
On December 9th, the society will present its 36th annual Holiday Wrappings and Fashion Show.
The event will be held at Ocean City Convention Center. Organizers expect to have several hundred people in attendance.
Last year, the event raised around $128,000 and saw 875 women attend. There will be auctions, lunch, and Christmas spirit.
Dawne Pappas, an ACS volunteer and board member, believes it is a worthwhile cause.
“For our local community, it is really important we support things like the American Cancer Society, because we’re all affected by cancer,” said Pappas. “Do it in honor of someone, just a great event, just buy a ticket or make a donation.”
The event is $55 to attend, with doors opening at 10 a.m.
Money raised supports cancer research, education, and programs at work.
