Alleged Bennett Middle School incident
SALISBURY, Md. — Last night a parent went to Facebook to share concerns he had about Bennett Middle School.
A Bennett Middle School parent taking to social media writing about concerns over his son who is in a special education class and whether he was being harmed at school.
The father stated that his son had began coming home, hitting himself and flinching at movements made toward him. The parents wrote, they purchased an AngelSense watch allowing them to listen in on conversations recorded at school while their son wore it.
The parent stated quote, “Over the course of one hour I heard the classroom assistant tell a student to ‘quit touching her before she breaks their hand.'” They added, another adult could be heard using profanity.
Wicomico County Public Schools saying it can’t comment on the situation because of student privacy rules but stating quote, “Parents and guardians who have concerns should discuss them directly with the school so their concerns can be heard, investigated and handled appropriately. A school cannot work with a parent or guardian to resolve concerns unless the school is made aware.”
This is an ongoing investigation.
WMDT reached out to the family for comment the family declined to speak further at this time.
