2nd Pemberton Manor tenant complains of bats, roach infestation

SALISBURY, Md. – One resident at Pemberton manor is sounding the alarm on issues she says have been persisting in her unit for months.

Jen has been living at the Pemberton Manor apartments for almost 30 years with her family. She wanted to speak with WMDT on the condition of anonymity, about the bats that she said have flown into her unit, the stray cats that follow her to her door, and roaches that have infested her kitchen.

“To be honest, I don’t know where they’re coming from, to be truthful, and it doesn’t matter what we do,” said Jen.

Jen claims the roaches have been an issue in her apartment for months, but said other tenants have it worse. She said she’s tried to address the issue with the complex, yet it still persists.

“I’ve asked and I’ve put in, I don’t know, how many numerous work orders, and they just tell me, ‘OK. We’ll get to it,” said Jen.

Pemberton Manor stated to WMDT that staff are committed to addressing pest control issues, “…Our team always seeks to address maintenance needs, and this includes weekly property-wide pest control service through a professional third-party provider.”

But Jen warned if the pest and bat issues are not addressed at the root, they’ll turn into bigger problems down the line.

“It’s disgusting; it’s turned into a bad neighborhood and it’s just nasty. It was never this nasty,” said Jen.
