19-Year-Old Arrested in Accomack County for Reckless Shooting

PARKSLEY, Va. – The Accomack County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred on Sept. 22.

At approximately 4:42 a.m., deputies responded to Staunton Avenue following a report of shots fired. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered a residence, occupied by two individuals, that had been struck. An observable bullet hole was located at the home.

As part of their investigation, deputies executed a residential search warrant in the 21000 block of Cardinal Acres Drive. During the search, multiple firearms were recovered.

Subsequently, warrants were obtained for 19-year-old Cayden Allen Smith of Parksley. He was taken into custody an charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession for a “sawed off” shotgun or rifle. Smith is currently being held at the Accomack County Jail without bond.
