16-Year-Old Injured Following Early Morning Shooting in Dover

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department (DPD) is investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old injured on Sunday morning.

At approximately 4:41 a.m. on Oct. 19, police responded to the Bayhealth Kent Campus for a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, a 16-year-old male who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking on Trafalgar Drive when he was shot by an unknown suspect. Police have no other leads at this time.
