Wor-Wic to host their 15th 5K Hero Run
SALISBURY, Md. — Wor-Wic Community College will host its 15th annual 5K Hero Run on Saturday.
The 5K will begin early Saturday at Wor-Wic as a way to honor community heroes including police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Participants may also register in teams of two or three to compete for a trophy. A two-mile walk, consisting of two laps around Wor-Wic’s campus, is available for non-runners.
Prizes, medals and trophies will be awarded in multiple categories.
Heather Trader, Wor-Wic’s donor relations coordinator, said, “We also have a kids’ Hero Run obstacle course. Kids can come out, and in the parking lot we have an obstacle course set up for them. It’s really cute. They have different obstacles that relate to police, fire and EMS — things that they might have to do for their training.”
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the race starts at 9 a.m.
