Wicomico Health Department to host rabies clinic

SALISBURY, Md. — The Wicomico County Health Department is hosting a rabies clinic next month. Residents are encouraged to show out for their pets’ health.

The clinic is taking place on Saturday, October 4th, at 108 East Main Street in Salisbury. Residents can get rabies shots for their pets for $10 with no appointment necessary.

Pet owners looking to get a three-year dosage must bring proof of their pet’s previous rabies vaccinations.

Concerns about pets contracting rabies are rising on the Eastern Shore. Pet owners should vaccinate their furry friends to protect them and their family’s health.
Experts urge residents to be cautious and alert animal control if they see an animal acting strangely during the day.

This summer, three cases were confirmed on the lower shore. Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset counties each confirmed a positive case. The infected animals included a bat found in a family’s backyard, and two raccoons.
