UPDATE: Authorities Find Missing Crisfield Woman Dead
UPDATE: The City of Crisfield issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon announcing that authorities had found Theresa Vandenberg deceased.
“Regretfully, not the outcome we would have wanted, but Mrs. Theresa Vandenberg has been found… our condolences to her husband Tom and their families. Thank you to the community and everyone for your support and vigilance,” read the statement.
No additional information has been provided at this time.
CRISFIELD, Md. – The Crisfield Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an elderly woman last seen at Somers Cove Marina.
Tom Vandenberg and his wife, Theresa Vandenberg, sailed into Crisfield’s Somers Cove Marina over the weekend for the Marine Trawler Owner Association (MTOA) national gathering. Theresa reportedly left the pavilion she was last seen at around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, and headed towards her boat parked at E Pier. However, she never arrived.
Crisfield Police are working with marina staff, the Department of Natural Resources, and Maryland State Police to locate Mrs. Vandenberg. She was last seen wearing a white fleece top with a Solomon’s Island logo over a blue dress. She is described as 5’8″, weighing 195 pounds, and has short white hair.
