String of Burglaries Hit Dover
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is currently investigating several burglaries that have occurred over the last week.
Police responded to the Dunkin Donuts on Forrest Avenue in the early hours of Thursday, Sept. 4, for an alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed a shattered window at the front of the building. A preliminary investigation revealed that at 11:44 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, a suspect kicked the window in to gain access to the business. Once inside, the suspect removed money and left.
At 9:54 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, police responded to La Hacienda, also located on Forrest Avenue, for a reported burglary. Upon arriving on the scene, officers observed a shattered window. A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 5:41 a.m., the suspect broke a window of the business to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect removed money from the business and left. The suspect is described as a male wearing a black mask, gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
A third burglary occurred early Wednesday morning also at the Dunkin Donuts, but this time at the location on North DuPont Highway. Police responded to the business at approximately 3:59 a.m. and found the front glass door shattered on arrival. A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect used a hammer to break the front door glass and gain entry. Once inside, the suspect removed money and left.
