Salisbury Lawsuit Against Developer to Proceed
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor issued a statement on Thursday to formally comment on the lawsuit filed by the City against Mentis Lot 10, LLC.
Mentis Lot 10, LLC had planned to construct a residential and retail building Parking Lot 10, located in Downtown Salisbury. The lawsuit, which was filed earlier this year in August, alleges that the developer violated an agreement to keep the 267-space lot open for municipal parking until construction began.
In the mayor’s statement, he wrote that the Wicomico County Circuit Court “suggested the City’s petition could succeed on the merits.” As a result, hearings for the preliminary and permanent injunctions will be scheduled later this year.
“We remain absolutely confident that the City has strong legal grounds to ultimately prevail in this matter,” the statement said. “I appreciate the City’s commitment to protecting its interests and ensuring accountability in development partnerships.”
