Salisbury Closes Roads in Preparation for Maryland Folk Festival

SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland Folk Festival is returning to Downtown Salisbury next week, and the City is closing roads to make space for stages, vendors, and guests. 

The free, three-day outdoor festival will take place from Sept. 19 to Sept. 21, but road closures began in some areas as early as yesterday. The street closures posted by the City include:

  • Circle Avenue, from Market Street to Division Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 16 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 24
  • West Main Street, from Market Street to Division Street, will be closed from 6:00 a.m. on Sept. 17 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 23
  • St. Peters Street, Main Street to Church Street, will be closed from 6:00 a.m. on Sept. 17 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 23
  • East Main Street, from Division Street to Baptist Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 18 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 23
  • North Division Street, from Route 50 to Main Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 18 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 22
  • Church Street, from St. Peters Street to Division Street, will be closed from 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 18 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 22
  • Division Street, from Camden Avenue to Main Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 18 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 22
  • Division Street, from Market Street to Camden Avenue, will be closed from 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 18 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 22
  • Circle Avenue, from Division Street to the parking garage entry, will be closed from 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 18 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 22
  • East Market Street, from Division Street to Circle Street, will be closed from 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 19 until 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 23

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and follow posted detours.
