Road closures ahead of Maryland Folk Fest
SALISBURY, Md. — The City of Salisbury is putting road closures in place ahead of the Maryland Folk Fest.
Organizers said they are trying to keep the streets open as long as possible, but crews will begin setting up stages over the next few days. Overall, they do not expect major traffic issues. On Tuesday, Circle Avenue was shut down.
“Behind me, we have the first stage,” festival director Caroline O’Hare said. “This is the first main road that’s being closed. Circle Avenue will start to close, then the plaza another day, Division Street another day. We try to make the least amount of disruptions possible.”
Roads are expected to reopen Monday.
“We’re very much hoping to break down as quickly as possible on Sunday evening. We sometimes go till one in the morning and try and open up as many streets as possible.”
