One man dead after officer-involved shooting in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Cambridge.

Around 5 p.m. Thursday evening, Cambridge officers responded to the Deep Harbor development around Seaway Lane and Riverview Wharf.

Reports indicated that a man with a knife was chasing a woman.

While on scene, officers encountered the man with the knife and asked him to drop the weapon.

The man refused to do so and continued to approach the officers.

That led one officer to discharge his gun, hitting the man multiple times.

Officers immediately began performing life saving measures while waiting for EMS response.

The man was eventually flown to Tidal Health in Salisbury where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Right now, police are only identifying him as a 30-year-old Caucasian man from Cambridge.

The investigation is on-going.
