New African American mural unveils on Sept 30th
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Beach to Bay Heritage Area is unveiling a new mural on Tuesday, September 30th at 11 a.m.
The piece of art celebrates Ocean City’s African American heritage, highlighting the people and places that shaped the resort town into the inclusive destination it has transformed into.
The mural will also recognize the important role African Americans played in the town’s past history.
Andre Nieto Jaime, the Program Specialist for Beach to Bay, said honoring history is important.
“I think it is important to show this history. Because it’s part of American history, it’s part of Maryland history, and it’s part of our history, it’s what makes us the Eastern Shore.”
