Milford Man Arrested for Gas Station Burglary
MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a gas station burglary that took place in the early hours of Sept. 5.
Police responded to the Shell Gas Station on South DuPont Boulevard last Friday afternoon following a reported burglary. Upon arrival, officers were able to determine that at approximately 2:55 a.m., a white, male suspect entered the gas station after throwing a rock and shattering the glass entrance. He proceeded to steal a large quantity of cigarettes and pre-roll products before fleeing the scene.
Through an investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as 35-year-old Joshua Kenton of Milford. After securing a warrant for Kenton’s arrest, officers located the suspect in the area of Haven Lake in Milford, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Kenton has been charged with felony theft and third degree burglary. Officers requested a secure bail for Kenton; however, the court released Kenton on $5,100 unsecured bail with a no contact order with the gas station. Kenton will appear at a later time in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing.
