SALISBURY, Md. — KindSBY is working to expand its mission of spreading smiles by launching a new bulletin board contest at local schools. Teachers and students are encouraged to create kindness-themed boards and submit them to KindSBY.

Kindness Commissioner Heather Brooks says participants could win a prize. “We will be drawing a total of 10 winners that will receive a $25 prize for purchasing school supplies,” Brooks said.

KindSBY will also spread the word about its mission at the Maryland Folk Festival in Downtown Salisbury from Sept. 19 to 21. Brooks said the organization’s “kindness station” will feature a community mural for visitors to decorate, and on-theme merchandise to celebrate kindness.

“We are going to have a kindness station, and at that kindness station, we’ll be focusing on words, art, and heart. Words will be a jumbo scrabble board, where you can spell kindness themed words or have a good game with others in the community.”

The winners will be announced on kindSBY’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The contest will run until Sept. 30.
