Gov. Wes Moore talks politics at annual J. Millard Tawes Crab & Clam Bake
CRISFIELD, Md.- It was a big day for seafood and politics. The 58th annual J. Millard Tawes Clam & Crab Bake took over the Somer’s Cove Marina.
Governor Wes Moore didn’t make it last year but did attend today. The governor was brought in by boat after touring Smith Island Wednesday morning.
The governor was greeted by a big crowd in Crisfield, announcing his official endorsement for his re-election campaign. Governor Moore said if reelected, he plans to continue pushing funding to the Eastern Shore.
“We’re going to continue the work we’ve been doing on the shore. We’ve made historic investments on the Eastern Shore, including health care; we’ve made record investments in rural health care and also making sure we’re supporting rural hospitals,” said Governor Wes Moore.
“Also making sure we’re investing in education, we’ve invested $1.3 billion in education on the Eastern Shore alone. This is actually my 51st visit out to the Eastern Shore as my time as the governor, so the people of the Eastern Shore have gotten accustomed seeing me here,” he added.
The governor also took a look around the city, ending his tour at the Seventh Street Marina in Crisfield.
