Dover Man Arrested for Car Dealership Burglary
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the burglary of a car dealership that took place early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to Auto For You on South State Street on the morning of Sept. 10 following reports of a burglary. A preliminary investigation revealed that a suspect broke into the business between 1:00 a.m. and 1:25 a.m. by shattering a window. The suspect proceeded to steal the keys to two vehicles, including a black 2013 BMW 733 that he fled in.
At approximately 9:28 a.m. on the following morning, officers located the BMW traveling on South Bay Road. Upon attempting to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled into a neighborhood. The vehicle eventually went down a dead end in the 100 block of Nixon Lane. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Rashad Grace-Scott of Dover, was taken into custody without incident.
Grace-Scott was transferred to DPD to be processed and arraigned. He was released on $15,500 unsecured bail on charges of third degree burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
