Counties Coming Together to Close Out Overdose Awareness Month

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – Communities across the Eastern Shore have been going purple for overdose awareness month, and they are closing out the initiative this weekend.

In Church Hill, community resources from across the area will be showcased, as well as stories of recovery from those who battle with addiction.

And they’re Going Purple Together on Saturday.

The Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce says even though Overdose Awareness Month is ending, the need to help those with addiction doesn’t stop.

“This isn’t the end, this is the end of month of purple, the problem still goes on. Support is still there, you know, available. So even though the purple concept of September, it’s important to remind the community that all the services that that we promote and push in September are available you know 7 by 24, 365…” says Dorchester Chamber President, Bill Christopher.

Coming Together Purple will take place on Saturday, September 27th from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at 1130 Sudlersville Road in Church Hill, Md.
