City of Salisbury Welcomes New City Administrator

SALISBURY, Md. – The City of Salisbury is welcoming Nick Rice as the new City Administrator.

On Tuesday, the City announced that Rice would be joining the administration, with Mayor Randy Taylor expressing his enthusiasm for the new addition.

“Nick brings over a decade of experience in government, with a strong foundation in finance and procurement. Throughout the interview process, I was particularly impressed by his depth of knowledge, steady temperament, and well-earned reputation as a dedicated and hardworking professional—all essential qualities for success in this role,” he said in a statement. 

Rice’s experience in local government spans over 12 years in a variety of roles. He began his career with the Town of Ocean City, then stepped into roles as Wicomico County’s Purchasing Agent and later as Worcester County’s Procurement Officer.

Rice attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He went on to complete his Masters of Business Administration at Salisbury University.

“I am truly honored to accept the role as City Administrator and serve the residents of the City of Salisbury,” said Rice in a statement. “Furthermore, I am grateful to the Mayor and Council for entrusting me with this opportunity. I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience in efforts that will positively impact the progression of our city.”
