Carl Anderton boasts economic progress at J. Millard Tawes Crab & Clam Bake

CRISFIELD, Md. – Carl Anderton, Maryland’s Director of Rural Economic Strategy, was at the J. Millard Crab & Clam Bake, Wednesday.

He was formerly a delegate representing part of the Eastern Shore and told WMDT his new role has kept him very busy.

Anderton started it in July of last year and since then, he said he has been touring the state with the Moore Administration, working to fill in the gaps in the rural economic sector.

Anderton added he wants folks to keep track of the progress over the next three years to see how far the state has come, especially on the shore.

“The good news is, we’re fixing things. The governor has given us the ability to stand in the gap,” said Anderton. “…There’s a lot of little hurdles that I’ve learned that have stopped us from reaching economic potential, but we’re getting there.”

Anderton said he plans to stay in the role for as long as the governor will have him.
