Cambridge Police Discusses Multiple Shootings

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – In Cambridge, police are investigating a pair of shootings that took place from Thursday to Friday.

The first, taking place a little after five last night, in the area of Seaway Lane and Riverview Wharf, and involving officers.

According to Cambridge Police, the suspect was wielding a knife and had been told to drop the weapon before officers opened fire.

Cambridge Police Chief Justin Todd tells us further information is limited at this time.

The Cambridge Police Chief tells us, “The independent investigation division of the AG’s office is handling the the investigation with the assistance of the Maryland State Police from here on out. And they will be able to provide further updates as time goes forward.”

Meanwhile, police also responding to a shooting involving a 15 year old boy, who they say shot a man in the face late this morning.

The victim was flown to University Maryland Shock Trauma, police saying this incident took place on Park Lane.

“It should be a wakeup call if it hasn’t been already for what we’re dealing with with the juveniles and the crime that are committed through our country, throughout our state. We really need to really sit back and look at it and look at things, whoever we are. State, local, federal…” says Chief Todd.

Both investigations are still active at this time.
