Cambridge Police Arrest Baltimore Man in Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) has arrested a man from Baltimore following a vehicle pursuit on the evening of Sept. 19.
At approximately 6:39 p.m., CPD officers were processing a report of a stolen vehicle on the 700 block of Pine Street. Shortly after, a Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DSO) deputy located the vehicle in question traveling on Race Street.
The stolen vehicle began to flee from authorities, traveling onto Route 50. The vehicle continued to flee from officers, crossing county lines and traveling into Trappe. The vehicle proceeded to run off the roadway into a field on Old Trappe Road. The sole occupant and driver then exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot across the field.
Police were able to apprehend the driver with the assistance of Maryland Natural Resources Police Aviation. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Keshaun Jaziah Baynard of Baltimore. During a search of the vehicle, police located a Taurus handgun.
Baynard was transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton for treatment and then transported to CPD for processing. He was charged with multiple traffic violations and vehicle theft. Baynard was later turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, where he is being held without bond.
