37th Seagull Century Economic Impact

SALISBURY, Md. — Salisbury University is welcoming their 37th Seagull Century back into town. The event starts tomorrow but bicyclists are rolling their way into town in preparation. Salisbury University, where the event starts, shared that it’s one of their biggest events of the year.

University spokesperson, Jason Rhodes said that the event brings a lot of revenue to Salisbury for the weekend. “The Seagull century is a big economic booster for the area. So estimates in the past are that the single century has brought in about $4 million in commerce to the area every year and that’s something I know that our local businesses are happy about.”

The cyclists will be starting between seven to nine so you can expect more traffic and waiting times tomorrow morning.
