19-Year-Old Arrested for Fatal Shooting on Wallops Island

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. – The Accomack County Sherriff’s Office has arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a shooting that took place on Wednesday night.

At approximately 11:24 p.m., deputies responded to the Royal Farms on Chincoteague Road for reports of shots fired. Upon deputies’ arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and identified as 25-year-old Miguel Ethan Soto Trader of New Church.

A preliminary investigation into this incident has led to warrants being obtained for 19-year-old David Dean Bowden Jr., also of New Church. Bowden is currently incarcerated in the Accomack County Jail on no bond and has been charged with second degree murder.
