WSW Bringing Back Accomack Support Group
SALISBURY, Md. — Women Supporting Women, a local grass-roots non-profit that provides awareness, education and support to people impacted by breast cancer, is bringing back its Accomack Support Group, starting Sept. 9.
The group meets every second Tuesday of each month and will consist of a warm and welcoming atmosphere for breast cancer survivors to meet and share their stories, daily stressors, and issues faced when diagnosed with the disease.
The group is meant to serve survivors living in or around Parksley and Onancock, Va., and the greater Accomack County, including Pocomoke City, Md. WSW Board Member and Berlin Support Group Facilitator Cathy Kerns will serve as the facilitator for this group and will gently guide survivors through conversation.
The Accomack Support Group will meet at the Eastern Shore Public Library located in Parksley, Va., and the first meeting will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. No RSVP is necessary, the organization asks that survivors simply come as they are to find community, conversation, and support.
