UPDATE: Tavon Tull Exonerated

SALISBURY, Md. – In 2019, WMDT reported that then, 23-year-old Tavon Tull of Salisbury, was convicted of second-degree rape, and sentenced to 20 years behind bars.

But last year, the Wicomico County Circuit Court determined Tull was erroneously charged with sexually abusing the 21-month-old child, whose name is redacted from court records.

Now, six years after he was sentenced, state officials are voting to pay Tull over $500,000 for the wrongful conviction.

His sister, Raven Tull, said on Facebook, “…No amount [can] get his time back.”

WMDT’s Leila Weah has obtained court documents and is following this story. Tune in to WMDT News at 5:30 p.m. for the full story.
