TAPS program kicks off for Third Friday

SALISBURY, Md. — The City of Salisbury is launching a new program allowing alcohol in public spaces during Third Friday festivities.
The TAPS program lets anyone over 21 participate in a “walk-and-sip” event. Participants will be able to enjoy drinks from participating downtown restaurants while staying within a designated area. This marks the first program of its kind in Maryland.
“Here’s how it works: You go into one of the participating venues, get a color-coded cup for that location, and receive a wristband. You must be 21 or older. Then you can head out into the street to enjoy your beverage during the event,” said a city spokesperson.
If you plan to join in this Friday, don’t forget to bring a valid ID.
