Routine Sewer System Maintenance
SALISBURY Md.— After Labor Day Weekend the City of Salisbury will be doing sanitary and sewer system maintenance.
it’s a routine inspection as the city of Salisbury’s sewer system has pipes dating back from 100 years ago. After time, the pipes crack causing excess water in the system when it rains.
City Storm water Inspector, Dan Hertz said, “A City that’s been as loved as ours for so long. We have to constantly make sure that everything is up to standard. Making sure that as we know more about these things, that things reflect the paperwork and the maps and everything.”
Nick Voitiuc, Director of Infrastructure and Development shared the timeframe for the project, “The works plan to start right after Labor Day, the Tuesday after Labor Day anticipate to take about a week or so into early the following week, Saturday. There might be work going on so we can do the courthouse and the streets surrounding it so that we don’t cause any problems with courthouse operations.”
Work will be done on East and West Market Street, Baptist, Calvert Street, and Poplar Hill Avenue.
