Ocean City hit hard with the Hurricane Erin surge
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Hurricane Erin is churning off the coast, and the beachfront is facing the pressures. WMDT’s Ronnell Foreman was on 131st Street.
The impact on the weather has intensified. The winds are heavy, the waters rough, and coastal erosion with multiple dunes breached.
Chris is here for his yearly fishing trip, and he says the weather won’t ruin it.
“We came out to do some fishing, our annual family trip. But being able to see the waves and see the power of Mother Nature definitely adds to the bonus of the trip.”
The Ocean City Inlet was worse. The water was pushed all the way to gravel, where cars were parking.
People were even on the jet-skis in the choppy waters.
According to Chris, Mother Nature is undefeated. “Straight up beautiful views, you get to see Mother Nature. You got to respect it, because as the lifeguards have the beaches closed, said Chris. Mother Nature is going to do what it wants, regardless of what we plan for.”
