Maryland Dept. of Commerce Secretary tours Berlin

BERLIN, Md. – Maryland Commerce Secretary Harry Coker visited Berlin Wednesday. He’s been busy touring each county in Maryland, and said it’s an effort to learn more about what jurisdiction has to offer.

He specifically is focused on the arts districts. Considering the goods and challenges of each area.

In Berlin, he toured the Worcester County Arts Council. As well as local businesses like Una Bella Salute and Gold Crafts.

He also was able to see local work like the Dr. Reverand Charles Albert Tindley Mural. A Berlin legend with tons of history to his name.

After the tour, he told WMDT, he thinks the town has great potential.

“What’s even more impressive is the zero vacancy rate. But they are still creating space to bring more businesses. So that’s a strong asset, the creativity and the innovation. Trying to figure out better ways to take advantage of limited resources.”

Secretary Coker started the job in February.
