Maryland County Leaders Meet in OC
(OCEAN CITY, Md) – Leadership from across Maryland’s twenty four counties have been seeing what their fellow leaders have to offer in Ocean City.
It’s part of the Maryland Association of Counties’ (MACo) annual Summer Conference.
County leaders from across Maryland’s 24 counties were able to see what everyone is bringing to the table.
We spoke with one Maryland state Senator about how important it was to hear ideas from across the state.
“There’s no other conference or event in Maryland like this conference here. Just today, alone I’ve spoken to probably eight secretaries of departments about different issues that we’re working on…” says 28th District State Senator, Arthur Ellis.
And that collaboration continues to spread across not just county leadership and state representatives, it also goes a long way when it comes to different county departments to boot.
Stephen O’Connor, the Cecil County Director of Planning and Development says, “I mean, I think in any profession that’s a wonderful idea to get best practices and see what works and when you do that, you know, you build on other people’s ideas to make things even better.”
The MACo convention is taking place at the Rowland E Powell Convention Center in Ocean City.
It concludes on Friday, August 16th.
