Man Arrested for Rape of Child in Felton

FELTON, Del. – The Felton Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of East North Street in Felton for a reported sexual assault of a child.

Throughout the investigation, Felton police established enough probable cause for an arrest warrant on Jere Christopher Andrews, 44, of Wilmington, Del.

Andrews was at the residence when police were dispatched on Saturday, July 19 at 9:32 a.m., He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Felton Police Department for processing. He was arrested and charged with Rape Fourth Degree Sexual Penetration of a Victim Less Than 16 Years Old (Class C Felony).

The defendant was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court #7 where his bail was revoked due to being out on bail for other criminal charges not related to this incident. He was turned over to the Department of Corrections and issued a no contact order with the victim and any child under the age of 18.
