I.C.E. Initiates Detainment Actions in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. — Mayor Lajan Cephas confirms U.S. Immigrations & Customs Enforcement agents descended on the City of Cambridge earlier today, Aug. 5.

Cephas has reached out to Congressman Andy Harris regarding these unannounced raids within Cambridge city limits.

Cephas is imploring city residents and officials to refrain from engaging with any ICE agents and to forward any videos or photos of any perceived inappropriate actions or behaviors by ICE agents to her office, via lcephas@choosecambridge.com.

“Your freedom and safety is my priority in this moment,” the mayor said on social media today, adding that any photos or videos will be forward to Congressman Harris’ office. “Please allow the City of Cambridge time to collect relevant information; a statement will be released by the police chief…”
