Harriet Tubman Museum set to Begin Renovations
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – A Cambridge historical center is making progress to getting their doors open again.
Earlier this year, the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center had to shut down due to a pipe bursting in their building.
And they’re in the final stages of receiving a grant in order to cover the cost of the renovations.
Museum director, Linda Harris says she’s excited to see things moving forward and opening the center’s doors again in a matter of months.
Linda tells us, “It’s going to be exciting. We’re going to have a grand reopening with lots of programs inviting authors and other people who are interested in this story. So I’m very excited. It’s going to be a new Harriet Tubman Museum and education center, and that will be very good for downtown Race Street.”
Harris says she expects renovations to begin this fall and is eyeing to have the center re-opened in January.
