Dover man arrested in downtown robbery
DOVER, Del. — A Dover man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a robbery in the city’s downtown area, authorities said.
According to the Dover Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of West Loockerman Street around 8:46 p.m. for a reported robbery. Investigators say 30-year-old Marquis Boyer-Smith approached a victim, assaulted them, and stole their property before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
Patrol officers later located the vehicle and took Boyer-Smith into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Dover Police Department for processing and arraignment, police said. Boyer-Smith was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,200 secured bail.
He faces several charges, including second-degree robbery, terroristic threatening, offensive touching, and criminal mischief involving less than $1,000 in damage.
Boyer-Smith is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
