Day one of Poor Girls Open fishing tournament

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Thursday marked day one of the 31st annual Poor Girls Open.

The ladies-only fishing tournament benefits breast cancer research at the American Cancer Society.

Running from August 14th-16th, anglers choose one of three days to hit the water. On Thursday, 31 out of 164 teams decided to try their luck fishing. Though a majority a majority of boats opted to stay in, there was still plenty of action at the scales.

After one day of fishing, the leaderboard stands as follows:
