Wor Wic Community College Announces Ratification of Union

(SALISBURY, Md) – It’s a big day for educators at Wor Wic Community College, as the Wor Wic Community College Faculty Association (WWCCFA) was officially ratified.

It’s the first union in the history of the school.

The association received nearly 95 percent of votes in favor of the collective bargaining agreement.

Karen Berkheimer works in Wor Wic’s Human Resources, and says the road to get to this point has been a difficult one, but worth it.

Karen tells us, “I think this provides a sense of security for all of the faculty. We have outlined the different terms that were in our policy’s manual before, but now everything’s in the collective bargaining agreement. We used an interest based approach for this, which allowed us to focus on common goals rather than opposing positions.”

The agreement officially went into effect retroactive to July 10th, and will run through June 30th of 2028
