White Marlin Open starts next week
OCEAN CITY, Md. – It’s that time of year again: The White Marlin Open will return to Harbour Island next week, as boats and anglers compete for cash in the world’s largest and richest billfish tournament.
The prize pot is projected to top $10 million.
Unscene Productions’ David Messick said the group is ready for whatever the tournament brings in order to provide the highest-quality presentation to competitors and spectators.
“That’s with the fish — the fish are the main character — and the supporting cast is the boats and anglers,” Messick said. “We have to be able to see it, so we don’t have the luxury of being in a controlled environment. We just have to adapt.”
The White Marlin Open begins Aug. 4.
