Western Sussex takes home District 3 Junior League Championship

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Western Sussex All Stars won two consecutive games on Wednesday night over Sussex to claim the Delaware District 3 Junior League Championship.

With Sussex one win away from taking the title, the first game was a tight, back-and-forth affair that saw Sussex tie the game at 3 in the top of the sixth inning. West Sussex responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, ultimately winning the game 5-3 and forcing a decisive final game for the District 3 title.

The second game was a much higher scoring contest, with Western Sussex leading 5-2 after the first inning. Sussex would take a 6-5 lead in the top of the third, and they would carry a 16-9 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

Western Sussex found a massive eight-run rally in the game’s final frame to win their second consecutive elimination game and take home the District 3 Championship after a long day of softball.
