West Salisbury come-from-behind victory over Delmar in Little League Major Tournament

DELMAR, Md.- West Salisbury late came from behind to grab a 10-9 victory over Delmar, Monday afternoon in Delmar.

The game started with a high-scoring first inning with Delmar outscoring West Salisbury 4-3.

By the second inning Delmar extended their lead, scoring three more runs to West Salisbury’s one. Delmar led 7-3 going into the third inning.

The third inning is where West Salisbury found their rhythm as they closed the gap, outscoring Delmar five to two with Delmar still in the lead 9-8.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, West Salisbury was able to score two more runs and take the lead from Delmar for the first time heading into the fifth.

West Salisbury held off Delmar, not allowing them to score in the two remaining innings and cementing their victory.

West Salisbury will go on to face Berlin in the Championship game Tue. Jul, 8th at 6 pm in West Salisbury.
