UPDATE: Community rallies for Pastor Espinal

EASTON, Md. — The rally here at 5:30 p.m. drew a strong turnout in support of Pastor Espinal.

People didn’t just show up today—hundreds have been supporting Espinal behind the scenes, contributing more than $20,000 in just over a day to a GoFundMe page.

Fuentes was reportedly held in Salisbury, with speculation that he was in custody at the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Lewis says that’s not the case.

“If he was brought down to Salisbury, he wasn’t brought to our detention center. ICE does have a facility here in Salisbury—perhaps it’s a temporary detention facility. I don’t know. I’ve never been there. I’ve never seen it,” Lewis said.

WMDT reached out to Espinals’ daughter, Clarissa, who declined an interview.
