The White Marlin Open inches closer
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The White Marlin Open returns to Ocean City next month, billed as the world’s largest and richest billfish tournament.
This year marks the 52nd White Marlin Open, with a minimum prize purse expected to reach $8.5 million and potential for more.
David Messick, who works in production with Unscene Productions, said the tournament continues to grow and now reaches a global audience.
“We’ve been able to bring the livestream to 140 countries and territories throughout the world, and it proves the White Marlin Open is the Super Bowl of fishing,” he said.
The tournament gets underway Aug. 4.
