Sussex Central High School welcomes new principal
GEORGETOWN, Del. – A new building isn’t the only big change for Sussex Central High School. They also have a new principal as well.
Dr. David Carter began his new role on the 1st of July.
Sussex Central is his alma mater.
Dr. Carter was a student athlete – and graduated in 1997.
He’s starting his 17th year as an administrator – having spent 24 years in education.
Dr. Carter tells us he wants to build relationships with staff and the students, calling it one of his most important tasks.
“I hope to accomplish a sense of pride, community, of success, of us being the best high school in Delaware, a sense of people wanting to know what it is, what’s the secret, like what it is that’s going on at Sussex Central and so that we can be loud and proud about our academics, about our sports, about our performing arts, about everything that we do, our visual arts, I want people to understand that Sussex Central has been an amazing place for a long time and it’s only going to get better,” said Dr. Carter.
Sussex Central High School’s first day of classes will be in the beginning of September.
