UPDATE: Scene cleared: ‘Suspicious device’ investigation on Market Street in Salisbury
Heavy police and fire presence; people urged to steer clear
SALISBURY, Md. — After 12 pm, Salisbury police and fire personnel were called to the parking lot on Market Street that neighbors the Wicomico River – near Route 13, across the Wicomico River from the Salisbury Amphitheater – for a “suspicious device.”
Police taped off the parking lot and began trying to determine the nature of the device.
As of 2 pm, police and fire personnel were still investigating the parking lot, which remains closed.
People are encouraged to avoid the area until the investigation is complete.
