Summerfest coming back to Salisbury
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Parks and Recreation department its gearing up for its annual summer festival.
The festival has been around for years and brings families out from all around the county, and the best part about it, it’s free.
Randy McFadden with Parks and Rec said they offer different games and will even have resources there, like mental health experts for people to talk to.
“For these events, we normally have a dj there, we provide free food for everybody, the first 100 kids get free icees from Kona Ice, which is always a treat for them,” said McFadden. “We just kind of have the event to bring the community together.”
McFadden added the event helps connect people in the community, creating a stronger county.
“Community is the community. If we can bring the community together for a common cause, just to have fun, play a couple of games, do some bounce housing, just to kind of lighten the mood and just be together, it will help strengthen everything going forward,” said McFadden.
The festival will take place on July 22nd from 5 – 8PM at the Doverdale Playground.
